HOLLYWOOD IS COMING TO the
DAN KEEN HORSEMANSHIP RANCH |

The first weekend in
December, Executive Producer
Ace Grant from Hawaii and
Director Spencer Thornton
from Hollywood will be on
location at Dan Keen
Horsemanship in Walhalla,
Texas to film a pilot for a
new television series,
"Horse Hunters
International". Jeff
Blauvelt, an Emmy award
winning cameraman from the
Discovery Channel will be
shooting on location in the
latest 3D technology. |
Dan Keen, a local well-known
trainer will be hosting the
new series along with his
wife Kelley. Dan was
recently on the movie, "The
Tree of Life" produced
and directed by Terrance
Malick, starring Sean Penn
and Brad Pitt. We are
looking for exciting
horsemen and women in the
industry to share their
story as well as extras for
future segments. |

the horse enthusiast to the horse
professional, Keen Horses
International, The TV Series will
appeal to all audiences. The series
is hosted by Dan and Kelley Keen of
Round Top, Texas. The Keen’s will
take you on an international ride
around the world and introduce you
to the best of the best in every
discipline and field. We’ll visit
everything from world famous horse |
shows,
amazing equine ministries,
charities, youth competitors, horse
trainers, scholarship programs,
equine arts and photography to
working ranches that date back to
the early 1800’s. Join us for an
exciting adventure as we discover
how these amazing animals are used
in the 21st century. Look for local

This
event may be of interest to anybody
who trains horses. Dan is not just
"Western" per se. He is excellent at
the psychology behind horses and
looks to be able to control each
quadrant of the horse at every speed
which is the core of dressage
anyway. He considers himself as
doing "Wenglish" actually (his own
coined word--meaning a mix of
English and Western). I interviewed
him a while back and found him to be
quite solid and generous with his
information--he excels at turning
around horses that may be
recalcitrant (often due to the
humans they've had to deal with). He
answered many questions I had about
some issues I was having with one of
my own, for instance. Ingrid (one of
