Subject: Callie and Marianne
Hi Dan,
I wanted to give you an update on
Callie and Marianne. Marianne has been working very hard with Callie
and doing all the things that you taught her. 2 weekends ago, we
went to
Paris
,
Texas
for a rodeo. Callie was a little goofy in the alley way but not too
bad.
When
she saw the barrels, she was ready to go. Marianne and Callie won
Junior Barrels and ended up with the second fastest time of the night.
This last weekend, we went to the Martha Josey barrel racing clinic in
Marshall
. This clinic involves lots of slow work on the barrel pattern and a
competition run on Friday AM and one Sunday PM. Callie was pretty
good all weekend and just needed another horse to walk up with her to
enter the practice and the competition patterns. They also ran the
fastest time out of about 85 people both Friday and Sunday. The
winner of Sunday won a Josey Ultimate Barrel saddle. Marianne has
wanted to win this saddle for 5 years now and was finally able to do it!
I've attached a picture of them for you.
Thanks for helping us take control of Callie again. She has
obviously been feeling better for a while but just could not calm down
enough in the alley to realize that barrel racing does not hurt her any
more. By using what you taught Marianne and Callie, they were both
able to be calm in the alley and are now a great team again.
Thanks again!
