2009 Summer Youth Clinics

June 11th – June 14th - Intermediate Riders Only
Reservation Deadline – May 15th

Clinic will include:

  • Desensitizing – Removing fear from the horse
  • Sensitizing – Moving horse in four (4) different directions at different speeds
  • Submission – Teaching horse to stand at any time and relax
  • Go & Stop Button – Riders will teach horse how to go when asked and how to stop when asked.
  • Speed Control – Horses that are too slow will learn to speed up and fast horses will learn to slow down and rate.
  • Trailer Loading – Riders will properly learn how to load their horse.

 

Intermediate Riders must meet the following qualifications/requirements:

  • Rider must be able to fully tack, mount and canter their horse without assistance.
  • Rider must be actively showing or have show in the notice level.
  • Rider must own their horse.

Clinic Prices- $600.00 Per Person/Horse
$250.00 Deposit required along with completed application form (s).

  • Prices include meals for students and lodging student and your horse.  Students must provide feed and hay, etc.  for their horse (see What to Bring)
  • Arrive Thursday (after lunch) at 1:00 P.M.
  • Clinic will begin after everyone arrives with set-up and orientation.
  • Clinic will begin each morning at 8:00 A.M. (all horses fed and tacked at 8:00 A.M.)
  • Sunday 9:30 A.M. Competition, lunch and Awards Ceremony – Parents are invited and encouraged to attend!
  • Clinic concludes after lunch/ceremony on Sunday.

2009 Summer Adult Clinics

Adult Advanced Clinic
July 9th – July 12th – Advanced Riders Only
Reservation Deadline – June 15th

Clinic will include:

  • Advanced Ground Work – Working horses in four (4) different directions over and through obstacles at different speeds
  • Speed Control – Riders will teach horses how to rate rider at different speeds.
  • Supple – Horses will be taught to use all of the important body parts, head, neck, shoulders, ribs and hind quarters.
  • Lead Changes – Riders will teach horse simple and flying lead changes. The level of lead changes will depend on horse’s ability.

Please note that Adult Clinic participants will be responsible for their evening meal.
